January Meeting

WHEN: Thursday, January 13, 2011, 11:30 am to 2:00 pm
Lunch will begin at 11:30 am and end no later than 12:30 pm, with program to follow. We will strive to end lunch at noon to allow greater program flexibility.

WHERE: The Athletic Club of Columbus, 136 E. Broad Street

TOPIC: A Panel Discussion on Inequitable Conduct
Inequitable conduct may be found when a patent applicant breaches his duty of candor and good faith to the US Patent and Trademark Office while applying for a patent. Steve Grant will moderate a panel discussion comparing litigation and prosecution perspectives regarding this important and dynamic area of law. Mike Speed will provide the litigation perspective and Bill Richards will provide the prosecution perspective. Of particular interest, the panel will discuss insights that may be gleaned from recent oral arguments in Therasense, Inc. v. Becton, Dickinson and Co., a case concerning alleged inequitable conduct during patent prosecution.
