May Meeting

WHEN: Thursday, May 12, 2011, 11:30 am to 2:00 pm
Lunch will begin at 11:30 am and end no later than 12:30 pm, with program to follow. We will strive to end lunch at noon to allow greater program flexibility.

TOPIC: Supreme Court and Federal Circuit Update on Patent Law – What Changed in 2010, and What can We Expect in 2011?

This 1.5-hour presentation will examine the implications of a number of recent U.S. Supreme Court’s and Federal Circuit’s rulings affecting patent prosecution and litigation, including decisions in Bilski v. Kappos; Microsoft Corp. v. i4i L.P.; Board of Trustees of the Leland Stanford Junior Univ. v. Roche Molecular Sys., Inc.; Global-Tech Appliances Inc. v. SEB S.A.; Association for Molecular Pathology v. USPTO; Ariad Pharms. Inc. v. Eli Lilly and Co.; Centocor Ortho Biotech, Inc. v. Abbott Labs.; Enzo Biochem, Inc. v. Applera Corp.; Therasense, Inc v. Benton Dickinson & Co.; and other cases.
